In terms of top earners, senior officers at NPS will have their basic salary increased to Ksh345,850, up from Ksh289,090. This is an increase of Ksh56,760.
Their counterparts at Kenya Prisons will see their minimum pay increase from Ksh292,765 to Ksh301,548. This is an increase of Ksh8,783.

According to the Ministry, the latest adjustments are part of the efforts to motivate police officers and address the welfare challenges that officers have faced for many years.
The salary adjustments were made following recommendations made by the National Taskforce on Police Reforms that was headed by former Chief Justice David Maraga.
Here is a quick recap of the top news stories for the week:
Safaricom is set to roll out a data minimisation feature on M-Pesa that will mask customers’ phone numbers when making payments to Till and PayBill numbers. This follows an approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
